The original Pac-Man offered plenty of levels, but they didn't vary much in design. If you're seeking variety, check out an old grand project from Namco Bandai called the world's biggest Pac-Man. There, every player can create their own level, which is displayed on a giant "continent" of levels that can be freely played as you gather points and new levels are created. It might not seem like much, but it's truly a spectacle.
If you're a fan of Pac-Man, you'll be glad to discover this world full of surprises and opportunities. Although, instead of a world, it's a website, and instead of surprises and opportunities, it offers a continent of Pac-Man levels... literally. In truth, the world's biggest Pac-Man is a site where you can register and keep track of all your statistics, but you can also contribute to the growth of this "Pacmanesque continent" by building your own levels, which, once approved, are added to the rest for everyone to play.
Explore the Map
Once you enter the site, as if it were Google Maps, you can navigate the entire virtual space and select the level you want to play. Here you can create an account via Facebook or simply play for fun. When playing, it's the classic Pac-Man that we all know and love, but on the right you can see all the statistics for that specific level: dots eaten, lives lost, ghosts eaten, times played, and times completed.
Back on the main screen, you can choose to create a new level by clicking on any of the plus signs that appear on the continent, marking empty spaces.
There's not much more to say, other than it's an excellent idea for any Pac-Man fan and one of the thousands of reasons why the Internet is such a happy place. In all its years of existence since its creation in 2011, a total of 512,187 levels have been created, with 99,019,850 lives lost, 239,830,294 ghosts eaten, and 172,862,787 levels played, and it seems there's still infinite room to add even more. So now you know what you could be doing for the next 30 minutes of your life. Enjoy!
