A Steampunk World in the Year 2160
They Are Billions takes place in the year 2160 in a world devastated by millions of infected human beings after an apocalypse leaves them as zombies. Now you must build human colonies to survive on a post-apocalyptic planet where millions of infected try to annihilate the few surviving humans. The colonies must defend themselves against swarms of infected that roam the world using retro technology because all knowledge has reverted to the past, similar to the 19th century. Your goal is to survive the zombie apocalypse in a steampunk world.
Massive Hordes and Smart AI
They Are Billions promises to live up to its name as you will have to face hundreds of zombies. The developers have created a graphics engine that can render up to 20,000 units in real time. Think your colony is safe? Wait until swarms of thousands of infected wandering the world. Each one has its own AI, able to hear you when you make noise or investigate an area if you eliminate a horde. To counter this, you must train and hire mercenaries in exchange for money and food to protect the colony. Each unit is unique and has its own abilities.
Strategic Pause and Colony Management
They Are Billions is a real-time strategy game but allows you to pause the action to make the best strategic and tactical decisions. Thanks to this, you can place structures to build, give orders to your army, or consult all game information. Colony management includes building housing for colonists, resource gathering, energy provision, and protection of the colony.
They Are Billions is being developed by Numantian Games and will be available on Windows. The game does not have a concrete release date yet, but it is expected to arrive by the end of 2017.
