Logic circuit applications are extremely useful platforms for electronics professionals and enthusiasts. That's why we at Neoteo have selected some of these free tools to create logic circuits. For those who don't know what a logic circuit is, here's a very, very simple explanation that might be the start of a wonderful adventure of knowledge: "It is one that handles information in binary form, that is, with values of "1" and "0"." If you already know what we're talking about, these tools will help you in your projects.

Logisim

Logisim is one of the most advanced applications for creating logic circuits and from its simple interface you can work comfortably. In the upper-left corner you'll find the menu (with tools), where you'll find the elements you'll use frequently (Gates, plexers, base elements, etc.). What stands out about the utility is that it supports simulation to see if the circuits will work correctly (signals are sent through the circuits). Logisim is a free application available for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. If you want to know more about Logisim, go here.

LogicCircuit

Continuing with LogicCircuit, a practical application designed for teaching and learning electronics. You can create schematics from scratch, thanks to its list of elements or by dragging and dropping external elements onto its interface. The tool allows you to export circuits as images and if you need help, you'll find it on the author's page. LogicCircuit is a free application available for Windows.

Droid Tesla

Droid Tesla is a very simple SPICE engine but powerful. This simulator that solves resistive circuits uses Kirchhoff's Current Law (KCL); thanks to algebra, the user can perform the simulation and check if the circuit works. The platform can simulate a resistor, inductor, operational amplifier, bipolar junction transistor, and PN LED diode, among many other things. Droid Tesla has a fairly complete demo version. If you want access to the rest of the features, you'll have to pay. Droid Tesla is available for Android devices.

Hades

Hades is a powerful application for creating logic circuits but with the characteristic of doing interactive simulations. The platform has all the classic elements (gates, complex gates, flip-flops, RTLs, etc.). When you finish your work, you can export it as an image or GIF. Hades is a free application available for Windows (from its page you'll find tutorials, documentation, and examples).

ElectroDroid

ElectroDroid is a basic application that every electrical technician should have, as the utility is a compilation of elementary operations. With the environment, you can configure transistors, operational amplifiers, resistors, capacitors, and some basic integrated circuits, among other things. The platform also includes a Ohm's Law calculator, reactance calculator, operational amplifier, and inductor design tool among other functions. ElectroDroid is a free application available for Android devices. Very good!
