One of the most interesting supernatural horror films of 2022 was Smile, based on Parker Finn's short Laura Hasn't Slept. Two years later, its sequel arrives, and the "chain curse" continues: The difference is that this time, the Smiling Demon doesn't attack a therapist, but a pop artist (played by the gorgeous Naomi Scott) at the peak of her popularity. I admit I still get chills from this trailer, and the hallway scene with the dancers… ugh. (October 18, theaters.)
