We live hyper-connected, especially through instant messaging services, but when it comes to professional or business environments, email remains the most secure form of communication. Although we have free services like Gmail or Outlook, these services keep our data and show us advertising that is insecure. For this reason, we want to introduce you to Tutanota. The platform is simple to use and comes with extreme encryption, making it a secure application.
Creating Your Account
Once you enter the service's page, you'll need to create an account just like with any other email service, and you'll immediately go to your user panel, which is entirely in Spanish and easy to understand.
Sending Confidential Emails
On the left side of the interface, you'll find shortcuts to folders (sent, inbox, etc.), while the central and right panel is reserved for viewing emails. In the top right, you'll find shortcut icons like Settings and Contacts, among others. To compose an email, you do it normally, but you can choose to make it confidential or a conventional email. If you choose confidential, you'll need to protect it with a new password or use the one you set when creating the account.
The recipient will receive the email, but to see the content and attachments, they will have to click an external link and enter the password.
If you seek a higher level of encryption, we recommend ProtonMail or SCRYPTmail, but Tutanota is a very good option to send emails securely and in an easy-to-understand environment. Tutanota is a free web service that works perfectly in all web browsers and is also available as an application for Android and iOS mobile devices.
