TUXEDO Computers announced the Stellaris 16 Gen8 on October 13, 2026, with pre-orders open and first shipments planned for early November. The configurable laptop offers three NVIDIA GeForce RTX Laptop GPU options, with power ranges and performance estimates published by the manufacturer. TUXEDO’s announcement lists an international starting price of approximately €2,350 before VAT and import duties.
Three RTX options, three power ranges
TUXEDO lists a power range for each GPU and estimates that performance rises by about 15% at each step, from the RTX 5070 Ti to the RTX 5080 and from the RTX 5080 to the RTX 5090. These relative-performance figures are TUXEDO’s estimates. MuyLinux reported the VRAM capacities as 12 GB, 16 GB and 24 GB, respectively.
| GPU | VRAM | TUXEDO’s stated power range | TUXEDO’s estimated performance comparison |
| NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Laptop GPU | 12 GB | 65–140 W | Reference option |
| NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 Laptop GPU | 16 GB | 80–175 W | About 15% faster than the RTX 5070 Ti |
| NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU | 24 GB | 95–175 W | About 15% faster than the RTX 5080 |
The ranges help distinguish the configurations beyond their GPU names: the RTX 5090’s range starts at 95 W, while the RTX 5080’s starts at 80 W. TUXEDO says its cooling system supports up to 240 W of combined CPU and GPU power.
The Linux-capable platform
The announced processor is the Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus, with 24 cores—eight performance cores and 16 efficiency cores—and boost speeds up to 5.5 GHz. TUXEDO says the processor can reach 91% of its multicore performance at 80 W, compared with 150 W, when the fans run at 45%. Those are manufacturer figures, not independent benchmark results. The laptop supports up to 128 GB of DDR5-5600 memory or 96 GB of DDR5-6400 memory. Its two M.2 slots support one PCIe 5.0 ×4 drive and one PCIe 4.0 ×4 drive. TUXEDO’s announcement lists TUXEDO OS, Ubuntu and Windows 11 as operating-system options; its German announcement also names Kubuntu.
The 16-inch display choices have a 2560 × 1600 resolution: LED and Mini-LED options reach 300 Hz, while the OLED option reaches 240 Hz. MuyLinux reported that full HDR support was available only under Windows and that Linux keyboard lighting was single-color, while Windows supported per-key RGB. MuyLinux’s October 14 report details those operating-system differences.
Base configuration and advertised price
The announced base configuration pairs the Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus with the RTX 5070 Ti, a 500-nit LED display with 100% DCI-P3 coverage, 16 GB of DDR5-5600 memory, a 500 GB SSD and TUXEDO OS. TUXEDO lists its international starting price at approximately €2,350 before VAT and import duties. Its German announcement gives a Germany starting price of €2,795 including 19% VAT.
TUXEDO said on October 13 that first shipments were scheduled for early November 2026.
