Bloomberg reported on November 3, 2026, that Ubisoft and at least two other gaming companies had made offers to acquire Arkane. The report, citing people familiar with the negotiations who were not authorized to speak publicly, also said Xbox had considered selling the studio to its management.
Microsoft’s consultation extension
In a statement reported on October 26, Microsoft said it had extended Arkane Lyon’s consultation period by one month while exploring options, including a partner to support development work still ahead. GamingBolt reported December 13, 2026, as the revised consultation date.
The possible partner’s stated role was to support the studio’s development work. Bloomberg separately reported offers to acquire Arkane.
