Universal Media Server is a media server that uses DLNA technology to communicate with other devices on your network. This lets you share content directly between them and in different environments of your home or office. DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) technology aims to define interoperability guidelines that allow sharing digital media between consumer devices.
The platform is designed for the home environment, so you can share multimedia content from your computer to your smartphone, game console, media center, or a Smart TV. Thanks to its UPnP communication protocol and technology based on the PS3 media server (Java), you can share any file and run the server on any operating system.
