MobaXterm Home Edition is a remote terminal with the necessary remote network tools to get Unix commands on your Windows. The platform adapts to different users, so it can be used by webmasters, developers, IT administrators, and non-advanced users.
The utility lets you save sessions on any USB device without needing administrator rights or permissions, and then run it on any other computer (it connects to SSH, RDP, VNC, telnet, rlogin, sftp, ftp, and Cron servers). This way, you can carry MobaXterm Home Edition along with other tools on your device.
On the right side of its interface, you'll see the typical Unix design, where you'll find the IP address and session number. On the left side, you'll find the “Sessions”, “Tools”, and “Macros” tabs.
In the “Sessions” tab, you can switch between active sessions or run several at once; in the “Tools” tab, you'll have access to the system and office tools; and in “Macros”, you can record what you do.
To know if you are connected, just observe that the “Server X” icon is green. With this terminal, you'll have almost all Unix functions on your computer.
MobaXterm Home Edition offers a Linux environment on Windows thanks to its intuitive graphical interface and connection to different servers. It is a free and portable application available for Windows operating systems.
