The impact of P.T., the playable teaser created by Hideo Kojima for the PlayStation 4, has been so immense that fans haven't let it go after four years and five months. The cancellation of Silent Hills and the removal of the demo hit the gaming world like an asteroid, but over time various projects emerged to reproduce or rebuild P.T. down to the last detail. The Rise and Fall of Silent Hills
The story must be repeated to serve as a warning: Hideo Kojima was set to develop a new entry in the Silent Hill universe (called "Silent Hills") alongside Guillermo del Toro and Norman Reedus. Its "Playable Teaser" became one of the best demos in history, but Konami decided overnight to sniff glue, cancel Silent Hills, remove the demo from the PlayStation Store, and get rid of Kojima. Today, Kojima is working on Death Stranding, one of the most anticipated titles for PS4, alongside del Toro, Reedus, and none other than Mads Mikkelsen. Konami? It lives off pachinko, mobile apps, and microtransactions. But P.T. remains stronger than ever thanks to fan efforts. In July of last year, Qimsar's P.T. for PC appeared, and now it's Unreal P.T...'s turn...
Unreal P.T.: A Labor of Love
Unreal P.T. is a creation by RadiusGordello on itch.io. Their work (nine months in total) has been so precise that only one model, one piece of the puzzle, and of course, the final trailer are missing. Everything else was created from scratch with Unreal Engine, and the method to finish this version is essentially identical to the original P.T., with very slight adjustments aimed at improving progression consistency. The latest available build of Unreal P.T. is 1.0.7, which adds some optimizations (thus reducing the basic requirements) and fixes several bugs in virtual reality mode. Personally, I wouldn't play any variant of P.T. with a VR headset even under threat, but apparently there's some demand for that mode.

What's next? We recommend getting a copy of Unreal P.T. as soon as possible. Qimsar's project lasted only a week online because Konami sent him a cease and desist, but in exchange they offered him an internship within the company, which is still valuable for a 17-year-old getting started.
