UserBenchmark: Measure and Compare Your PC's Performance Online
UserBenchmark

Whether you’re enjoying a new computer or recent upgrades, sooner or later you’ll want to run performance tests to verify its stability. At the end of 2018 we shared a list with the best benchmarking programs, but we can’t forget about comparing with similar systems. That’s the job of UserBenchmark, an online platform that records your system’s performance and pits it against a list of millions of benchmarks generated around the world.

A computer’s performance can vanish overnight. Malware, excess heat, hardware failures, a bad configuration, Windows up to its usual tricks. Nobody enjoys diagnostics, but to detect a problem, sometimes we only need to put extra pressure on a component, and benchmarks are very useful in those cases. If there’s a throttling condition or a secondary issue, it will likely show up in the results. Of course, a series of isolated numbers aren’t much use if we can’t compare them. That’s when UserBenchmark comes in.

How UserBenchmark Works

The first step is to download its executable, and the second step, well… there is none. Everything is automatic in UserBenchmark, and user intervention is reduced to clicking Run. The details of each benchmark fly by on the interface (if we can call it that), and when we reach the testing phase for the graphics chip, the program will load additional animations. Once the session is finished, UserBenchmark will open a tab in the default browser with the overall report. Depending on the detected configuration, it will calculate a performance percentage, followed by the analysis of each component.

Is UserBenchmark Accurate?

The question every user asks is: "How accurate is UserBenchmark?" And to be honest, it’s a reasonable doubt. The launch of Ryzen processors exposed several weaknesses in its CPU evaluation, and the developers are still trying to find the best balance to express results.

Final Thoughts

With more than 25 million systems evaluated and 125 million benchmarks executed, it’s inevitable to find errors, but users keep looking for their information, and we hope it improves over time. To wrap up, remember: benchmarks are simple references. If you feel your computer works well and meets your expectations, all we want is for you to enjoy it.
