If you're getting started in the world of remote computer control, VanillaRAT will fit you like a glove. It's a complete platform for controlling computers remotely, a small program that allows you to take control of another device and manage its files and all its information. The tool works in the background, and the device owner won't notice your intrusion, so they can continue with their tasks on their computer normally.
Such a feature, unless your goals are malicious (which we ask you not to do), only serves for educational or learning purposes. Or to help someone remotely, like an aunt or grandmother who needs assistance. In a real-world scenario, antivirus software will likely detect the program and delete it. To use it, you only need to generate a binary file (from its interface) that you'll save on the computer you want to control remotely. Then you can use the environment on a local network or via a dynamic DNS.
How to use VanillaRAT
First, download VanillaRAT and run the file 'VanillaRAT.exe' and make sure the default port is '1604'. When the platform interface opens, you need to click on 'Builder' to generate the file to install on the computer to control. A new window will open where you'll enter the required data: DNS, port (default is '1604'), Tags, etc. Then click 'Save' and look for it in the 'Clients' folder. Path: Release - Clients. The file name will have the value of the 'Tag'.
Next, install the created file on the other computer. And from your device, click 'START SERVER'. The connection will be enabled in the center of the interface. And by right-clicking on the connection, you'll have access to the context menu to access the following VanillaRAT functions:
- Remote desktop viewer.
- Access to remote files, both upload and download operations are supported.
- Option to send messages to the remote terminal.
- Get information about the controlled computer.
- Get detailed hardware statistics.
- Option to lock the screen.
- Key logging.
- Access to Command Prompt.
- Manipulate the audio recorder.
- Option to open a website.
- Access clipboard text.
- Show a custom message box.
- Access running system processes.
Note: The method we've described is for operation on a local network. But you must be very careful because if the target network or the local network changes, the connection will be interrupted. To overcome this issue, you'll need to purchase a dynamic IP.
VanillaRAT is a very good platform for remotely controlling a computer and fully managing it. You can use it for free on any Windows computer. The only measure you have to take is to disconnect the antivirus from the remote terminal so you can perform the tests you need. Don't use it for evil!
