The good news is that the web has an abundance of free resources, and one of the most interesting stops is Vecteezy, with thousands of examples available.
As someone who has been forced to work with images the size of postage stamps, I understand the problems a bitmap can cause, and they’re even worse for graphic design professionals. That’s when vector graphics come to the rescue. But if you have a casual project in mind, there’s likely already a good solution on the web for you. Just as stock image banks offer millions of options with flexible licenses, the Vecteezy portal prioritizes vector graphics.

Need icons? There are almost a quarter million results waiting for you. Need backgrounds? Close to 300,000. Some are in SVG format, others in EPS, and many come with a high-resolution JPEG version. The variety is extensive, and all categories are well organized. Free material carries the appropriate label, but if you want more precise results, you can apply additional filters.
Now, it’s not all a vector festival at Vecteezy. If you think a traditional photo or a video fits your project better, the portal has about 65,000 resources across both categories. The download process is straightforward and doesn’t require login. Click the button, confirm the standard editing, wait a couple of seconds, and you’ll receive all the content, either in the appropriate format or inside a zip file.
The only detail left to mention about Vecteezy is attribution. Unlike CC0 or public domain images, Vecteezy’s license asks you to highlight the source of the content with a small code or link. The alternative to remove this requirement is to join the platform with a Pro account at $108 per year, or $14 per month when talking about images. Including videos in that package brings the cost to $228 per year, or $29 per month.
