Virtual Morality is an interactive mystery movie in first person that takes place during a university party. Putting yourself in the role of one of the invited girls, you have to make decisions that will directly affect the narrative. With an atmosphere reminiscent of American films, the game is essentially an FMV in the style of Choose Your Own Adventure, where the story branches in multiple directions depending on the choices you make. Do you stay with the popular girl or go with the lonely one from the group to investigate the surroundings? Do you help the victim or chase the killer? The choice is yours.
The game consists of three episodes. To get you into the mood, in the first episode you must find out who killed Teddy Long, a famous YouTuber and the host of the party. There are many suspects, and no one is safe. Virtual Morality is essentially an interactive movie where the story and the quality of the acting are of utmost importance, and fortunately it doesn't disappoint. Although there are no well-known actors in the cast, it's worth highlighting the good balance between tension and humor, with very delirious scenes and lines for fans of B-movie cinema.
As a movie, Virtual Morality is in the style of Scream but modernized with today's massive technological consumption. The setting is the typical American party where sex, drugs, and plenty of selfies are a must. Undoubtedly, the story justifies multiple playthroughs to discover everything that's happening at the party. Even though the game is entirely in English, it doesn't interfere much with the gameplay, which is more of a trial-and-error style until you can solve the mystery and find out who the killer is.
