I'm half drunk right now, because I had a rum and coffee (in 3:1 proportions) and honestly it's hard for me to even write. The buzz caught me off guard, since I usually have a drink like this at the same time. What was the problem today? I'm fasting — no breakfast, no lunch, no snack — because I spent all day making room in my stomach for a nightly feast of roast pork and fries. I survived on nothing but tobacco and coffee, and now I'm paying the price. As we say around here: 'the dead don't scream,' and I still think this week's Visual Dump came out pretty good. Don't you think? With a recommended movie at the end and everything. Hic!

Argentina doesn't have a great tradition of genre films. For better or worse, my country is indeed recognized as a generator of auteur cinema. That's why Moebius is a landmark in our cinematic history — science fiction but auteur, the perfect midpoint between the two. It's about a missing subway train and parallel dimensions, and of course many other things. It's like an episode of 'The Twilight Zone', but Argentine-style. It's a film I'm passionate about, maybe because it's part of my own story. If you want to give it a chance, you can even find it on YouTube.
