A New Chapter in San Francisco
After the events of Watch Dogs in Chicago, San Francisco becomes the next city to install the ctOS surveillance system. The story of Watch Dogs 2 introduces us to Marcus Holloway, a young hacker living in the San Francisco Bay Area, the cradle of the technological revolution. Marcus was wrongly framed for a crime he didn't commit because of a ctOS update. As a result, he begins working with Dedsec, a notorious group of hackers, to pull off the biggest hack in history: taking down CTOS 2.0, an invasive operating system used by criminal minds to control and manipulate citizens on a massive scale.
A Massive Open World
Similar to its predecessor, Watch Dogs 2 is an action-adventure game with stealth elements. Through a third-person perspective, the game presents a massive and dynamic open world set in a fictional version of San Francisco, an area twice as large as the city of Chicago in Watch Dogs. This city is composed of six different areas: downtown, the urban area, the coast, Oakland, Marin, and Silicon Valley. All these areas have distinct characteristics and aesthetics. You can explore the city on foot or using various vehicles such as cars, trucks, motorcycles, ATVs, and boats.
Hacking as Your Main Weapon
Marcus also has acrobatic skills, being a parkour practitioner through the city. But your main weapon in Watch Dogs 2 is hacking, taking control of drones, vehicles, cranes, security robots, and much more. By hacking enemies you can manipulate them in different ways, activating a series of unpredictable events. Every person, vehicle, and device can be hacked in this game. Watch Dogs 2 is being developed by Ubisoft Montreal and will be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One starting November 15, 2016, while the Windows version has a release date for November 29, 2016.
