Waymo announced on October 27, 2026, a plan to add nearly 250 square miles of robotaxi service territory across five existing markets: Los Angeles, Nashville, Orlando, San Diego and the San Francisco Bay Area. The company said it was phasing in the changes during the week after the announcement.
Where Waymo said coverage would extend
Waymo named these destinations and directions for the planned expansion:
| Market | Area or destination Waymo named |
| Los Angeles | South Bay, including Torrance |
| Nashville | Farther south, including the zoo |
| Orlando | Nearly double the eastern coverage and expand downtown service |
| San Diego | North to La Jolla |
| San Francisco Bay Area | Farther south, including a new BART connection at Berryessa Station |
Orlando figures and the airport boundary
Attractions Magazine and Bungalower reported a 53-square-mile addition in Orlando, bringing the service area to 120 square miles. In its October 27 report, Attractions Magazine said Orlando International Airport (MCO) remained outside the service area after the expansion.
A city or metro-area name does not guarantee that a specific pickup or drop-off is within the service boundary. Waymo directs riders to check its app or updated service-area maps for coverage at particular locations.
