Today it was really hard for me to find thirty images worthy of this column. Sometimes it seems the internet just isn't funny anymore, no matter how hard I try. Or maybe it's me who's turning stale and bitter, losing my sense of wonder day after day. Anyway, I think the collection turned out to be worthy of your eyes. Or at least, I hope, not a total waste of your time. You let me know.

At the end, a classic from the 80s, with an alternative poster made recently in its commemoration. It's likely (and only likely) that you've seen it. If not, boy, I'd like to be you so I could see it again without knowing what's going to happen :D

In recent weeks, superstition became collective in a tech medium again. I remember in 1998, when everyone was outraged by 'Bonsai Kittens'. People believe anything, even while holding scientific wonders in their hands.

Known in Latin America as "SOS, vecinos al ataque" and in Spain with a title that spoils the ending a bit, The 'Burbs (1989) seems to me one of the most unfairly forgotten movies of the 80s. It has absolutely all the ingredients of a classic, and goes hand in hand with gems like 'Fright Night' (but without vampires) and 'La ventana indiscreta' ('Rear Window') by Alfred Hitchcock. With a Tom Hanks at his funniest and a Joe Dante already established after the brilliant Gremlins (1984) and the fantastic 'Innerspace' (1987). If you haven't seen it in its many cable reruns, it's something you should fix right away.

Enjoy!
