A 9to5Google report published October 19 says Google’s October 2026 system notes list changes for Find Hub, Wallet, Google Play, WebView and other services. Some entries may take months to launch, and some may be experimental or limited to certain users.
What Google System covers
The monthly notes cover Play services, the Play Store and Google Play system updates across phones and tablets, Wear OS, Google/Android TV, Auto and PC. The October entries also include security, privacy, bug-fix and maintenance updates across Phone, TV, Auto, PC and Wear.
On Pixel phones, the reported route to the system-services list is Settings > Google services (tap the account name at the top) > All services > Privacy & security > System services.
Find Hub and protection during calls
The Find Hub entries cover locator tags: supported tags can automatically pair with their owner, and users can set categories, rename a tag and configure features such as reminders during registration. The list also includes Left-Behind Reminders and NFC access to a tag’s details and settings. Fast Pair devices are listed for smoother over-the-air firmware updates, alongside a new Find Hub Network specification.
A separate entry lists in-call scam protection for devices running Android 15 and earlier. It addresses apps that request accessibility permissions during a call. For Aluminium (Googlebook) devices, the PC entry lists disabling Find Hub installation and removing Find Hub capabilities.
Wallet and Google Play
Google Wallet entries include receipt scanning, an in-app message center and clearer merchant names in transaction notifications. Other listed changes add card art and payment-network logos to tokenization prompts. The notes also mention upgrading an Aadhaar digital ID to an Aadhaar card, an India-specific identity feature.
For Google Pay in Chrome on Android, the reported change lets users skip the Payment Request interface when giving a merchant their name, email address and phone number.
Google Play may show an estimated download time or the remaining download size instead of percentage progress. Ask Play is described as summarizing app reviews from real users and citing them; Community Posts may display AI summaries of trending discussions with links to the original posts. Other Play entries add tag filters to the Listen area of Collections and let users see global influence figures such as review views and helpfulness votes.
WebView, cars and image labels
The reported Android WebView API lets developers configure an allowlist of trusted origins for selectively enabling cross-origin-isolated features, including SharedArrayBuffer. Android Automotive’s OEM Design Tokens let manufacturers customize Google app color themes consistently.
An India-specific entry calls for AI-generated images to carry an AI label, with some exceptions.
