Windows Firewall Control is a program to easily control the firewall. Its tools allow you to configure filters and manage rules. With the environment you can manage incoming and outgoing network connections, to delete them, block them, or allow access. You can also add the platform to the Windows context menu, so you can activate it anywhere in the operating system.
The interface is divided into two panels: Main Panel and Rules Panel. From these you can activate rules and set any kind of rule you need. The options offered by the environment are quite solid, and the program works as a straightforward alternative to the native firewall, featuring four filtering levels.
- High Filtering: disables all incoming and outgoing connections.
- Medium Filtering: blocks outgoing connections that don't match the rules you've set.
- Low Filtering: blocks outgoing connections that do match your established rules.
- No Filtering: lets you turn the Windows firewall on or off.
In the utility's settings you'll find Options, where you can enable or disable the tool in the Windows context menu and define keyboard shortcuts. From Rules, you set the types of rules; and from Tools, you launch platform utilities such as Event Viewer and Windows Firewall with Advanced Security.
From the Rules panel, you can activate and manage different rules. Its administration window shows you the defined rules and lets you block, delete, or create new ones. To filter lists, you need to activate the option from the Windows context menu, or by right-clicking on the platform.
What's interesting about the utility is that it helps you understand how the operating system's firewall works, and in doing so removes the fear of using third-party platforms to protect your computer. Windows Firewall Control is a simple and effective tool for managing firewall rules and filters.
