The File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is not the only option for transferring files between local and remote systems. That's why we present WinSCP, an SFTP client that uses the SSH method to transfer files securely.
Apart from being able to connect to an SSH server (Secure Shell), the utility also gives us the possibility of connecting using the SFTP protocol (SSH File Transfer Protocol) or the SCP service (Secure Copy Protocol). SFTP is a standard of the SSH-2 package. SCP and SSH-1 can also be used with the platform. We recommend that you use the custom installation, this way you will install the client according to your needs. During the installation process, the tool will migrate the connections you have from another client (for example FileZilla).
The interface is really simple to understand, on the right you will have the server files and on the left the local files, while at the top you will find the platform services.
The client supports batch operations, folder synchronization, has a text editor, is compatible with drag and drop, URL and shortcuts (PuTTY), supports authentication via password and public keys, option to save registry configuration files of the operating system and rename files, among many other features.
WinSCP also supports connections via the SFTP protocol for secure file transfer.
If you are looking for an SFTP, SCP and FTP client that you can carry everywhere in your pocket, without a doubt WinSCP Portable is an option that you must try. (If you need a simple FTP client, we recommend downloading other options.) WinSCP Portable is a free application that is available for Windows operating systems.
