Everything we've seen so far about AI image generation depends on computers, graphics cards, and web services. However, there are many mobile apps available that can connect to those services and bring results to smartphones and tablets. One of the most popular is Wombo Dream, which includes a good number of free styles and the ability to mix our own images.

My recommendation for creating AI images from text hasn't changed: The best is to go with an offline installation based on Stable Diffusion, and escape the whole credits/subscription scheme. While I must admit there are models with superior aesthetics (version 4 of Midjourney is excellent), I also think their basic plans are very expensive.

Luckily, there are two alternatives: You can go directly to the free web versions, or take advantage of some of the ad-supported mobile apps. That's the case with Wombo Dream. If the name sounds familiar, it's because we've already talked about its virtues in the past, but its mobile version has comfortably surpassed ten million downloads, and its reviews are very positive.

Test, go back, change the style, and test again.

The app recommends creating an account to better track the images and texts used, but you should first experiment with its trial mode. The interface is simple and intuitive: First you enter the prompt (or you can use one of the available expressions), then you select an artistic style, and as an optional step, the app will allow you to add your own image to mix and use as reference.

The basic editing of Wombo Dream presents a single result, while the others always remain for premium profiles. Finally, Wombo Dream's options are three: Download the result as video (once again, that's premium), download the trading card as on the website, or set the image as wallpaper on your device. The final resolution is acceptable for the vast majority of screens.

Download, share, use as wallpaper, or buy the print.

Logically, Wombo Dream's free mode will show ads, but if you want to go premium, the options are three: $4.99 per month, $29.99 per year, or a one-time payment of $96, something unusual given that everyone bets on subscription as a model. That said, Wombo Dream's free profile is a good starting point, and we invite you to try it.
