WordMat is an MS Word add-in for solving equations and mathematical graphs. It adds a tab to your document that provides a large number of mathematical services, allowing you to solve almost all mathematical, physical, and chemical formulas directly from your text document.
The tool can be used at home or in educational settings, thanks to its impressive capabilities.
Installation and first steps
Once you download the add-in from its official page, you'll notice that the download is very slow. However, once installed, it works smoothly. Its use is very simple: just open an MS Word document and go to the WordMat tab, where you'll find six categories: Formulae, Settings, CAS (Computer Algebra System), Plottings, Statistics/Probs, and Diverse. Within these categories, you'll find subcategories.
Exploring the WordMat categories
In Formulae, you'll find subcategories for percentages, functions, problems, and vectors, among others.
In Settings, you'll find CAS configurations. In CAS Settings, you can adjust whether to display scientific notation, units, complex numbers, degrees or radians as the angular unit, among other options. In Notation, you can adjust separations and symbols. In Graph, you can select the basic program for graphing (Gnuplot, Graph, GeoGebra, or Exce). In Numbered Equation, you can adjust the position (left or right) of equations. In Backup, you can make a backup of an equation or set automatic backups. In Advanced, you'll find automatic updates, languages, and more.
In CAS, you can perform direct calculations and solve equations. In Calculate, you can solve equations directly to their maximum value. In Ligning (er), you can solve differential equations. In Definitions, you can delete definitions, define variables, equations, and physical constants. In Reduce, you can simplify equations. In Infinites, you can differentiate or integrate equations. And in WolframA, you can solve equations with Wolfram Alpha.
Within the CAS category, you can also do plots, 3D Plot, statistics and probabilities, diverse options, and more.
Plotting graphs with WordMat
To plot a graph with the add-in is really simple: just click Show Graph. A new 2D window will open, where you enter the values for plotting, then click Update and you'll get a preview of the plot (2D interface).

As you can see, with the extension you can do from MS Word math formulas to graph plotting, create and solve equations. If you are a teacher or have a higher level in math, physics, or chemistry, the platform offers you a large number of services and functions.
