Xeno-canto is a website dedicated to sharing wild bird songs from around the world. If you are a researcher, a bird watcher, or simply curious about the song of a little bird you heard outside your window, Xeno-canto invites you to listen, download, and explore its collection of different bird sound recordings. The project started in 2005 and to this day it has exactly 562,482 recordings, consisting of more than 10,000 bird species and 11,618 subspecies. But the site is more than just a collection of recordings; it is a collaborative project where the community of users voluntarily record, upload, and identify bird songs.
