Xinhua reported on Oct. 31, 2026, that Alibaba had announced a partnership with Apple to integrate its Qwen model family into Apple Intelligence for users in China. The report names Siri, Writing Tools and Visual Intelligence. Alibaba’s reported schedule set developer-beta testing for Nov. 4 and a public rollout alongside iOS 27.3 for December 2026.
The reported integration covers three Apple features
Xinhua says the planned China integration would bring Qwen into Siri, Writing Tools and Visual Intelligence. The report describes capabilities that include understanding text and images and generating content.

Alibaba described user controls and a training policy
Alibaba says users can choose whether to enable the integration and what information to share. The company also says user requests and generated responses will not be used to train its AI models.
The rollout plan is tied to iOS 27.3 in China
Xinhua’s reported eligibility conditions specify a compatible iPhone with both its device location and the Apple Account country or region set to China. The reported schedule placed developer-beta testing on Nov. 4, 2026, with a public rollout planned alongside iOS 27.3 in December 2026.
Apple’s earlier Qwen guide covered Mac setup
Separately, MacRumors reported that Apple briefly posted a China support guide for eligible Mac users and had removed it by Aug. 9, 2026. The guide described connecting a user’s own Qwen account to Siri and Writing Tools on macOS 26.6 or later. That Mac setup was distinct from the iOS integration planned for Apple Intelligence in China.
