A Personal Story

Recovering from the injuries received during the previous game, the police approach Kazuma Kiryu in the hospital to arrest him for his past crimes. Kiryu chooses not to resist arrest and voluntarily spends three years in prison to live peacefully with the children he had raised. When he is released, he learns that Haruka has apparently disappeared. Kiryu searches for Haruka only to discover that she has fallen into a coma after being hit by a car. At that moment he discovers that Haruka has a newborn son, Haruto. Uncertain whether Haruka will recover from her injuries, Kiryu travels with the baby to Hiroshima to unravel the mystery of what his adopted daughter had been doing during the last three years.

Gameplay and World

Yakuza 6: The Song of Life is the seventh entry in the Yakuza series of action-adventure games, and it was released in Japan on December 8, 2016. The gameplay will be similar to other titles in the franchise, set in an open world with exploration mixed with an arcade style during combat. Kazuma Kiryu returns as the protagonist and will be the only playable character during the adventure, which will take place in locations in Kamurocho and Hiroshima. The trailer showcases the fights, as well as the various activities that can be done in this more modern version of Kamurocho, such as taking selfies, feeding cats, going fishing, or taking care of Haruka's little baby.

The Final Act

Yakuza 6: The Song of Life is the final act for the series' protagonist Kazuma Kiryu, so Sega thought it appropriate to send it to the West in two special editions: a limited one that will include a hardcover art book and a special one called After Hours, which includes the aforementioned art book, two shot glasses, ice stones to keep drinks cold, two coasters, and a special box to store everything. Yakuza 6: The Song of Life is being developed by Sega and will be available exclusively on PlayStation 4 starting March 20, 2018.
