A song can stay buried in your brain for weeks, but the same happens with phrases from TV series and movies. The problem is that we sometimes lose track of their origin, and we need to know where they came from to find a little peace of mind. Fortunately, there are sites like Yarn, which besides locating those phrases with its internal engine, also shows us a clip containing the exact scene.
With the constant bombardment of new series, adaptations, cinematic universes, remakes, prequels, sequels, and all their variants, the truth is that sometimes our wires get crossed and we end up confusing actors, actresses, scenes, and dialogues. Fortunately, the Web is an excellent ally, and in most cases it's enough to enter a small reference to find its origin… but Google isn't perfect either, and it has moments when it gets lost as much as we do.
Yarn: Search phrases in movies and series
A good alternative is Yarn, which besides offering memes and quizzes, also has a phrase finder for any movie or series. We don't need to create accounts or anything like that. Logically, some expressions are too generic to expect a precise and direct result (for example, the "Everyone!" of Gary Oldman in Léon), but if we manage to remember an earlier phrase, Yarn includes a tracking option with the Previous Clip/Next Clip commands to get to the desired scene.
As for the rest of the site, Stories is the "social" section where users post their own mashups, Memes lets us create memes extracted from clips, Emojis searches videos using emojis as a reference, and Quizzes tests our ability to recognize movies.
The official Yarn page suggests the possibility of searching phrases in music clips, but I must admit I didn't get good results. And to finish, it's possible that some of the samples are slightly NSFW, so I recommend treading carefully and not getting into trouble.
