De Samsung Galaxy M31s is geschikt voor dagelijks gebruik en voor wie een grote accu belangrijk vindt; de keerzijde is een AnTuTu-resultaat onder het gemiddelde van telefoons uit dezelfde periode. Deze uitvoering heeft 6 GB RAM en 128 GB opslag. De telefoon was ook verkrijgbaar met 8 GB RAM en 128 GB, en de opslag is uitbreidbaar.
Het Super AMOLED-scherm is 6,5 inch groot, heeft een resolutie van 1080 × 2400 px en een pixeldichtheid van 405 ppi. De verversingssnelheid van 60 Hz is lager dan bij de meeste telefoons uit dezelfde periode. De pixeldichtheid is juist beter dan gemiddeld, en Always-On Display is aanwezig.
