Beyond their natural limitations, benchmarks are necessary for users to visualize and quantify the performance of any computer. They are also very useful for detecting weak points such as temperature, power supply, and memory failures. With that in mind, we come to 3D.Benchmark.OK, a compact, free, and very easy-to-use benchmark that will help you test your PC’s performance and make comparisons quickly with other users’ hardware.
Have you just finished assembling or updating your computer? My first recommendation is simple: get playing! If you have a pending title or need to scratch that itch, don’t waste time. Some of these benchmarks have a relatively compact profile… but they aren’t the only ones in that category. Today I’d like to mention 3D.Benchmark.OK, which besides being free and portable, takes up less than two megabytes in its zip file (2.04 MB uncompressed).
How to Test Your PC’s Performance with 3D.Benchmark.OK
Double-click, wait a few seconds, and the 3D.Benchmark.OK interface will show all its options. There’s no need to navigate too much: select the graphics parameters, and click Start Benchmark to begin. The exact duration of the benchmark depends, obviously, on the hardware in your machine, but in general it shouldn’t take more than two minutes.
Granted, graphically it’s not a marvel (the water is a mirror), but the goal is for the benchmark to generate enough pressure to verify the performance of the entire rig, and 3D.Benchmark.OK doesn’t disappoint. In fact, its main screen already works as a stress test, with an FPS counter at the bottom.
The settings are dynamic and real-time, and once it’s finished, you can compare the results with its online database. There are more than 2,000 entries with a good selection of graphics cards, which are also separated by the resolution used. I haven’t noticed large deviations in the final FPS count, so 3D.Benchmark.OK is consistent. Download a copy!
