Google Cloud announced its Gemini agent on October 8, 2026, describing a work-focused agent designed to plan tasks, use skills and tools, connect to business systems, and return completed work to employees’ existing documents, inboxes and developer environments. A Noticias de Bariloche article credited to ENTER.CO reports Microsoft 365 among its integrations. Google Cloud describes the agent as a universal agent for work that selects a model for each task and includes enterprise security, administration, governance and cost controls.

What the report says about Microsoft 365

The Noticias de Bariloche article also names Google Workspace, Slack, Salesforce, ServiceNow, development tools and databases as connections. It reports that organizations can give an agent its own identity and permissions, restrict which resources and actions it can access, review an audit history, set project usage limits and select models. According to the article, a task can stop when it reaches its configured limit until an administrator authorizes it to continue.

Taken together, those reported controls describe an enterprise setup in which organizations manage an agent’s access and usage, with administrator approval potentially determining whether work resumes after a limit is reached.

Two other Gemini–Microsoft connections

The announced agent is distinct from earlier Gemini Enterprise connectors. In a March 2026 article, Promevo described Gemini Enterprise connections to Microsoft 365 services including SharePoint, OneDrive, Outlook and Teams. That account concerns Gemini Enterprise, not necessarily the newly announced agent.

Microsoft also documents Google Gemini as a model-provider option for agents built with Microsoft Agent Framework. Developers can use the Gemini Developer API or Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform with that framework. This is a separate developer integration: it does not describe the Gemini agent connecting to Microsoft 365.
