A report published October 7, 2026, said it sent Meta 19 Facebook accounts sharing AI-generated videos of child abuse on October 6. The accounts remained live more than 24 hours later, as of the report’s publication.
The reported 19-account finding
The videos depicted physical abuse of children. The report also described racist abuse scenarios involving Black children.
The report said Meta had not responded about the 19-account batch by October 7. That account of the response applies to this batch.
An earlier account episode
In a separate earlier episode, the report said Meta removed an account it had shared with the company. The account was later restored with its videos and subsequently disappeared again.
A Meta spokesperson had earlier told the publication that the company was looking into that restoration and could not give an exact timeline. The report said the spokesperson did not answer later follow-up questions about the account.
