Every time Facebook makes a high-profile change, the world screams. While we can say with some confidence that all social networks are vulnerable to that kind of complaint, Facebook suffers them in a very special way simply because it is impossible to keep two billion users satisfied. Facebook left behind many elements along the way, some popular, and others... not so much. Today we are going to review the things we had at our disposal on the social network, and that in the end, we don't miss.
Why do I say we don't miss them? Because one of the most serious problems Facebook has today (leaving aside its Russian affair, lawsuits, and loss of users across the pond) comes down to restrictions in its interface and superfluous functions of very little value. For example: I want to deactivate 'Suggested Groups', the 'Explore' menu, the 'Featured Photos' request in the presentation, and the 'Did You Know' section. Either it's impossible, or it all comes back with pressing F5 in the browser. Most external animated GIFs are still a nightmare to link, and YouTube videos only show a thumbnail (when we want the full player). Facebook needs to polish its experience urgently, but until that happens... why not take a tour reviewing what's already left behind?
