With Alternate Chord you can practice guitar and bass easily, getting very good results in a short time. That's why we've decided to teach you how to use it. The platform gives you many options to configure your lessons and the possibility of incorporating MIDI instruments.
Configuring Your Lessons
Once you download and install the program from its official page, the first thing to do is click the Options button. From there you can customize the lesson:
- Choose between chords or scales
- Set the difficulty level
- Adjust the number of fret cells
- Set the intervals
- Choose the MIDI instrument
- Set the tone
- Choose the base note of the chord or scale
Using the Interface
In the interface you'll see the guitar fret in the center, with chords clearly indicated by numbers. If you want to change the base note, you can do so from the top, choosing C sharp, F sharp, and so on. Below the base notes you'll find the available chords that you can go through using the arrows. (You'll also find the scales there).
At the bottom you'll see the players, from which you can play the chord melody or the full melody. The platform also allows you to create your own chords or open your own chord files (.achord).
Practicing Your Guitar
Alternate Chord is a very good program for practicing guitar because thanks to its interface you can go chord by chord and also have the option to listen to them to copy the playback on your instrument. And if you want to improve your technique, you can practice scales, small melodies, or even add songs to the platform to rehearse. Alternate Chord is a free program available for Windows operating systems.
