On October 8, 2026, Amazon announced three Alexa Tablets: the Alexa Tablet 8, Alexa Tablet 11 and Alexa Tablet 12 Pro. Amazon says all three run Android, include access to Google Play and integrate Alexa+—a meaningful change for shoppers who want Google apps alongside Amazon services. The company’s announcement names apps including YouTube, Netflix, Gmail and Google Docs.
Amazon’s new Alexa Tablets include Android and Google Play
The Play Store access applies to the three announced Alexa Tablet models. Amazon says Google Play offers more than one million apps, while the tablets also include Amazon services such as Prime Video, Kindle, Audible, Amazon Music and Amazon Luna. That puts familiar Google apps and Amazon’s own entertainment and reading services on the same tablet range.
What Google Play changes for the lineup
For anyone choosing a tablet around the apps they already use, the practical point is straightforward: Amazon says these models provide access to Google Play, including Google Docs and Gmail as well as video apps like YouTube and Netflix. Alexa+ is integrated across the range, too, and can be opened by voice or touch.
Alexa Tablet 8, 11 and 12 Pro: key differences
The models span compact reading and browsing through a larger, higher-refresh display. Amazon’s stated maximum video-playback figures rise from 14 hours on the 8 to 16 hours on the 12 Pro; these are company claims, not measured test results.
| Model | Display size | Amazon-stated maximum video playback |
| Alexa Tablet 8 | 8.7 inches | Up to 14 hours |
| Alexa Tablet 11 | 11 inches | Up to 15 hours |
| Alexa Tablet 12 Pro | 12 inches | Up to 16 hours |
The Alexa Tablet 8 is the compact option: it has an 8.7-inch display, weighs 329 g and is 7.95 mm thick. It uses an 8-core processor and Wi-Fi 6.
The Alexa Tablet 11 moves to an 11-inch, 2.5K display with 276 pixels per inch and an adaptive refresh rate of up to 90 Hz. Its 16:10 screen and stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos round out the larger-screen configuration; Amazon lists an 8-core processor.
The Alexa Tablet 12 Pro has a 12-inch display with 280 pixels per inch, a 120 Hz refresh rate and a 3:2 aspect ratio. Amazon describes an 8-core, 4 nm processor, Wi-Fi 6E and four Dolby Atmos speakers, and says the model supports up to 16 GB of RAM. An optional Nanomatte display uses an anti-reflective process developed with Corning.
For reading, Amazon says opening a Kindle book activates a mode that silences notifications and reduces blue light. The company claims up to 20 hours of reading in this mode. The 12 Pro also supports an optional keyboard and USI 2.0 stylus; Amazon says the stylus supports 4,096 pressure levels, tilt detection and wireless charging.
Alexa+ and screen-context controls
Alexa+ can respond to voice or touch across the three models. Amazon’s On-Screen Intelligence feature can analyze displayed content, but it is off by default. Amazon says users can change the setting in Settings, and a visual indicator appears when Alexa can see the screen.
Reported U.S. prices and scheduled shipments
Reported U.S. starting prices are $229.99 for the Alexa Tablet 8, $329.99 for the Alexa Tablet 11 and $499.99 for the Alexa Tablet 12 Pro. U.S. shipments were reported as scheduled to begin October 14, 2026.
