AMD announced on October 20 that FSR 4.1 is coming soon to Xbox Series X|S. Xbox CTO Scott Van Vleet said AMD and Xbox optimized the technology together as another tool for developers. The announcement gives no console rollout date.

What AMD announced for Xbox

AMD’s presentation features Xbox CTO Scott Van Vleet announcing FSR 4.1 support for Xbox Series X|S as coming soon.

FSR 4.1 uses machine learning to reconstruct visuals from lower-resolution frames. Van Vleet’s developer-focused description means the announcement is not a promise that every installed Xbox game will use it automatically. AMD named no Xbox games.

AMD executive Jack Huynh shared the announcement in this post:

A separate preview for ROG Xbox Ally X and X20

ASUS scheduled an FSR 4.1 preview for the ROG Xbox Ally X and ROG Xbox Ally X20 for October 23, 2026. That date applies to the handheld preview, not the Xbox Series X|S rollout.

For those handhelds, ASUS directs users to Armoury Crate SE, then Update Center > Preview Updates. Its instructions also describe adding an FSR tile through Command Center customization. ASUS says the preview can be used with games that support FSR 3.1 or newer, and describes support across more than 400 games. The company warns that preview software may contain bugs or instability.
