AMD’s release notes, updated September 29, 2026, classify Adrenalin Edition 26.9.2 as an optional Windows driver. They list six games for new support, four fixes tied to specific games and hardware conditions, and four known issues.

Six games on AMD’s new-support list

AMD lists support for:

  • Minecraft Dungeons II
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 campaign early access
  • The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered
  • Gears of War: E-Day
  • CONTROL Resonant
  • Valor Mortis

Four fixes with specific conditions

The fixes in AMD’s notes address particular cases, rather than making a general performance claim. AMD lists an intermittent driver timeout in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on Radeon RX 7000-series products, and a War Thunder timeout on Radeon RX 6000-series products when running DirectX 12 with Instant Replay and Borderless Region Capture enabled.

The other entries concern Anti-Lag 2 appearing inactive in AMD Software after Frame Generation is disabled in Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, and intermittent driver timeouts or system freezes in HITMAN World of Assassination on Radeon RX 9000-series products.

Known issues AMD lists

AMD also lists four known issues:

  • AI Bundle components may fail to install in some regions with limited access to HuggingFace and GitHub.
  • Smart Access Memory may become disabled after driver installation on Windows 10 systems.
  • Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced may intermittently crash or cause a driver timeout on Radeon RX 7000-series products.
  • War Thunder may intermittently time out on Radeon RX 5000-series products. AMD recommends version 26.9.1 for users experiencing this issue.

Radeon and Windows compatibility

AMD lists Windows 11 version 21H2 and later, and 64-bit Windows 10 version 21H2 and later. Support depends on the specific Radeon product; the compatibility list includes selected desktop, professional, mobile and integrated graphics products.

For laptops and all-in-one systems, AMD describes its notebook driver as a reference driver with limited support for manufacturer-specific features and recommends using the system maker’s driver when needed. AMD also says Adrenalin does not support handheld gaming devices.
