From our web browser we can access countless services, and one of the most useful is Google Maps. It provides directions, alternate routes, and even traffic status in real time. But if we tell you that with Animaps you can create animated videos of interactive maps, you'll definitely keep reading.
The application is based on Google Maps' 'My Maps' feature to create and interact with maps. You can create animated routes, add descriptions, information about the time the route will take, and traffic markers, among other options.
Getting Started with Animaps
The first thing the platform will ask you is to register, so it can sync the maps you create to your account. Then you'll see its simple interface, where on the right you'll find a navigation panel with four tabs: Create, My Animaps, Import, and Share.
To create a map, you'll click on 'New Maps' and, via a pop-up window, you'll set the name, description, and duration. Then you'll need to zoom in on the selected area of the map to start the animation.
Now you can start adding elements (photos, text, icons, and determine the route using points). In the green bar, you can advance the timeline (using the clock icon) to create the map animation. All you have to do is save the project, and to view it you'll click on 'Open playback'.
Animaps is an excellent service for creating animated videos of your interactive maps. In our tests, the tool works perfectly, and although there are alternatives like MapBox, don't hesitate to give it a chance. Animaps is a free web application available for all web browsers.
