We are the most connected generation in history... and at the same time, the loneliest. The great promise of social media was broken long ago. We know that they harm us, that they addict us to small dopamine hits, and that they steal information, but we can't stop using them. Even so, our messages get lost in the binary noise, and they carry a value far lower than we imagine. Photographer and designer Mike Campau reflects this in his project «Antisocial», a small gallery combining real scenarios and CGI.
Despite their questionable practices, political ties, and the constant vindication of toxic behaviors, social media numbers keep growing. After the storm that hit Facebook, it's incredible that it still has 2.3 billion profiles, but there they are. Several leaders call for closing all accounts... not without a share of hypocrisy (because they became millionaires with the development of social media). And as expected, all the bad falls on the user. Besides turning him into "the product", they make him sick. Loneliness is common currency, and our posts become messages in bottles that nobody really picks up.

The symbolism of the bright logos in empty parking lots is very powerful and fits perfectly, but this work has been online for over a year, and if it still holds up it's because things haven't changed at all.
