Apple announced the MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR Display on October 28, 2026. The 14-inch and 16-inch models pair a tandem OLED touchscreen with M5 Pro or M5 Max chips. Apple scheduled deliveries and retail availability to begin November 6, 2026.

The launch confirms the touchscreen MacBook Pro previously covered as an expected product in NeoTeo’s earlier report.

What the touchscreen does

Apple describes touch as an extra way to interact with macOS 27 Golden Gate, alongside the keyboard and trackpad. The announced gestures include scrolling, pinch-to-zoom and dragging content between presentation slides. You can also double-tap a window to expand it or swipe it into a tiled layout.

The display uses tandem OLED, a design Apple says has two self-emissive pixel layers. Apple lists peak brightness of up to 2,000 nits for HDR and SDR, a 10,000,000:1 contrast ratio and an adaptive refresh rate from 10 to 120 Hz.

Dynamic Island and availability

Apple says Dynamic Island is coming to Mac, with Spotlight, Live Activities and Siri AI. For the MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR Display, Apple announced November 6, 2026, as the start date for deliveries and retail availability; as of October 30, that date was still in the future.
