Apple announced a broad Apple Creator Studio update on October 27, 2026, with most changes planned for the App Store in November. Existing subscribers are to receive those updates at no extra charge. Apple separately plans to add image editing and editable text-generated shapes to Freeform in December.

Final Cut Pro for Mac gets new effects and editing workflows

Dylan Bates discusses Apple's announced MotionVFX integration for Final Cut Pro in an English-language news overview.

Apple plans to bring MotionVFX content to Final Cut Pro for Mac, including thousands of templates, graphics, titles, and transitions, plus tools for rotoscoping, tracking, and color grading. The announcement scopes this integration to the Mac app.

Other planned changes span the editing process: Content Hub will add Apple-curated stock video, timeline images will be able to open in Pixelmator Pro and save back to the project, and Final Cut Pro will gain text-to-image generation, more keyframe easing options, and the ability to detach clips from the primary storyline. Apple also plans to add 23 transcription languages.

The selected video is an English-language overview of the MotionVFX announcement, not a demonstration of the new tools.

Pixelmator Pro and Logic Pro add image and music tools

Pixelmator Pro's planned Generate Fill tool will edit selected image areas from a text description. Apple says it can match surrounding lighting, perspective, and texture, and that Super Resolution will upscale generated content. Pixelmator Pro requires macOS 26 or later on Mac. On iPad, it requires iPadOS 26 and an A16, A17 Pro, or M1 chip or later; some Mac features require Apple silicon.

Logic Pro's redesigned Mac Browser will bring loops, instruments, and effect patches together. Apple says its on-device music understanding will classify and tag sounds, and the Browser will include a Splice library. Stem Splitter will let users isolate, replace, or rebalance drum parts without the original multitracks. Apple also announced a Producer Pack from Sergio George.

The Logic Pro assistant is planned as a beta for Mac. It is designed to help with production workflows, start a song, set up a vocal track from a prompt, and refine an active project. It requires macOS 27 Golden Gate or later on an Apple Intelligence-capable Mac and works in U.S. English. Logic Pro for Mac itself requires macOS 26.1 or later and Apple silicon; its iPad version requires iPadOS 26 or later and an A12 Bionic chip or later.

Keynote, Pages, and Numbers get beta assistants

Apple plans beta assistants in Keynote, Pages, and Numbers that use document context. The announced tasks include designing and refining slides in Keynote, drafting and restructuring text in Pages, and organizing data, suggesting charts, and building tables in Numbers. Apple names OpenAI among the model providers for these assistants.

The assistants require an Apple Intelligence-capable device running iOS 27, iPadOS 27, or macOS 27 or later, and are available in U.S. English. The apps will also support Model Context Protocol (MCP), which lets external AI agents and tools read content, make edits, and automate actions. MCP requires macOS 27 or later. Keynote will also add the open, JSON-based Keynote Interchange Format, with the file extension .keyx.

NeoTeo previously covered Apple's iWork AI assistant beta; Apple's October announcement describes the assistants' app-specific tasks and requirements.

More changes across Apple's creative apps

Motion will gain MotionVFX plug-ins, text-to-image generation, Pixelmator Pro round-tripping, additional keyframe easing, and a Displacement filter. Compressor will add encoding for Cinematic mode video recorded on iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo. Freeform is scheduled to receive reusable text styles and board background colors with the main update, followed by Pixelmator Pro image editing and editable shapes generated from text descriptions in December.

MotionVFX says existing plan holders can continue their workflows and that their tools remain active and supported. Apple says up to six family members can share the apps and content included with Creator Studio through Family Sharing.
