In a report published October 14, 2026, Xiaofei Xu of the South China Morning Post said ASML’s sales to China rose 109% quarter over quarter in Q3. The report put China’s share of ASML machine sales at 23%, up from 14% in Q2.
The 23% figure describes China’s share of machine sales in Q3. Xu separately reported that ASML forecast China would account for about 20% of the company’s total sales in 2026—a full-year forecast with a different measure and period.

ASML’s outlook and demand
ASML forecast total net sales of €14.2 billion to €15.2 billion for Q4 2026, with a gross margin of about 57%. For the full year, it forecast net sales of €44 billion to €45 billion and a gross margin of about 56%.
CEO Christophe Fouquet said customers were raising their short- and medium-term equipment-demand forecasts, primarily because of expectations for the scale and duration of AI-related investment. ASML said its currently planned supply for 2027 and 2028 would not fully meet customer demand, and that it was investigating additional capacity for 2028. Some customers had also expressed interest in orders for 2029 and 2030. These are company-wide demand and supply considerations.
Export controls in the political backdrop
Xu also reported pressure from Washington on Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten to tighten restrictions on sales of less advanced chipmaking machinery to China.
