Windows 11 has problems, and the only one who doesn't see them is Microsoft. Applications nobody wants, irrelevant services consuming memory in the background, performance regressions, missing features, and default settings that border on the absurd are part of the "new" operating system, but we have to work with it one way or another. Fortunately, there are tools like BloatyNosy, which helps us clean and optimize different aspects of Windows 11.
Recently, Microsoft confirmed that the version 22H2 of Windows 10 will be the last for that operating system. Windows 10 will continue receiving updates, but if you want the latest, the only path is Windows 11. The problem is that Windows 11 presents more difficulties than expected, even with 18 months of work. From its horrible hardware requirements to the bloatware out of control, the only thing this lack of vision in Redmond causes is that users remain on Windows 10, or alternatively, decide to gut Windows 11.
That second possibility is what brings us here. Cleaning and optimizing Windows 11 requires external tools, and one of the most recent is BloatyNosy, designed by Builtbybel. If the name sounds familiar, it's because we've already seen some of his previous projects, including LoveWindowsAgain, TweakUIX, and Debloos. From a technical point of view, BloatyNosy is the direct replacement for Debloos, and it shares almost all of its functions.
How to Clean and Optimize Windows 11 with BloatyNosy
The first step is to run BloatyNosy with elevated privileges. The program doesn't have a traditional installer and works directly from a temporary folder. Although it has three predefined profiles (Gaming, Just Debloat, and OOBE Profile), the most effective is to request an analysis and explore the entries one by one.
Some of its recommendations are acceptable, such as blocking telemetry and purging bloatware. BloatyNosy also seeks to reduce data sending by Chrome and Firefox, as well as blocking the new Bing features in Microsoft Edge. Among its main tweaks, we find an option to disable Snap Assist (which often causes problems on computers with more than one monitor), and uninstall widgets.
On the system side, BloatyNosy can reactivate the classic context menu in Windows 11, remove the unfortunate watermark on requirements, delete the residual fax function, disable Microsoft Teams, and uninstall OneDrive. The only BloatyNosy recommendation I disagree with is the installation of Windows Subsystem for Linux, since that is useful for a smaller group of users.
To finish, the program includes a wizard (the option "I want to set up Windows 11 for the first time") that is almost identical to the one we saw in Debloos. If the Windows 11 installation belongs to a new computer, it might be preferable to take advantage of that option. Download a copy!
