Diablo IV earned more than 666 million dollars in its first five days. Despite the multiple high-profile scandals that shook Activision-Blizzard, it's clear that fans haven't given up on the franchise, and they returned with great force once the final version of the game made its debut.
Now, the number 666 again becomes the central element of a new campaign called Blood Harvest. As its name suggests, the goal is for players to go to a health center and make a blood donation. As the volume continues to increase, Blizzard will release three tiers of in-game rewards (weapons, armor, and a mount) until surpassing 666 quarts (just over 630 liters). That's right: donors can enter a raffle whose grand prize is an ultra-high-end computer based on Intel Core i9-13900K processor, a GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card, 64 GB of DDR5 RAM, and a three-terabyte NVMe drive. The specifications are impressive, but Blizzard added another detail: a custom watercooling system that uses human blood
Logically, we all think it's a terrible idea to place a liquid with those characteristics (organic and alkaline) inside a cooling circuit, but Blizzard didn't share more details about it... except the use of the word “infused” (which suggests a couple of drops at most).
The only thing the company has confirmed so far is that the campaign only accepts participants residing in the United States, and they have until November 20 to share their donation certificate. The brand has already reached 39 percent (not bad considering it all started on October 20), but those who haven't donated blood can participate as long as they pledge allegiance to Lord Zir using the hashtag #DiabloBloodHarvest on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter).
