BrowserGap is a self-hosted remote web browser with a free plan. With this program you can host the browser on a VPS or any online server you have contracted. If you are a user who needs to browse the Internet without being watched, the service offered by BrowserGap ensures that your privacy is not compromised.

BrowserGap: Remote Web Browser with localhost
Hide your location

The only limitation we found in the free version of the platform is that you cannot download files from the Internet (only available for the commercial version). With the browser you can browse the Internet in an isolated way and change your real location thanks to its remote installation.

How to use BrowserGap

In this test we will install BrowserGap on a Linux terminal. Undoubtedly, a Linux server is one of the best options you can choose (over Windows), because BrowserGap and Linux are two open source programs.

BrowserGap: Remote Web Browser with localhost
Very easy to install

First you will have to run the following code:

Remember to run each line of code in the command window separately.

$ git clone https://github.com/dosycorp/browsergap.ce.git

$ cd browsergap.ce

$ ./setup_machine.sh

$ npm test

Then you will have to enter the IP address of the server where you installed BrowserGap, in a browser tab, to access the web browser services. From its interface, you can open new tabs (from the "+" icon), go to any web address or perform a search in the main search engines (its search engine: duckduckgo.com).

When working the browser in an isolated way, you cannot copy links and texts. To do this action, you will have to activate the context menu of the mouse (with the right button), so that the text appears in a pop-up window.

BrowserGap: Remote Web Browser with localhost

BrowserGap is a very good web browser that allows you to browse the Internet in a private and anonymous way. Its best feature is the ability to install it on your own server or convert your computer into a localhost.
