Capcom’s Tokyo Game Show 2026 hands-on lineup covered six games for Nintendo Switch 2: Monster Hunter Wilds, Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, the Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 4 remakes, plus Mega Man: Dual Override. The sessions offered early impressions of playability, performance and content, while the corresponding releases remain planned for dates stretching from October 2026 into 2027.

For U.S. viewers, Capcom’s pre-recorded Tokyo Game Show Spotlight was scheduled for September 16, 2026, at 7:00 a.m. PDT. The hands-on sessions add a more practical look at the games behind the company’s previously announced Switch 2 release calendar.

Six Capcom games reached Switch 2 hands-on sessions

The lineup covers several distinct styles rather than six variations on the same idea: large-scale hunting, open-world fantasy, survival horror and classic action-platforming. Five of the six games are planned for Nintendo Switch 2, while Mega Man: Dual Override is also planned for the original Nintendo Switch.

These dates describe planned releases, not completed availability. The demos also represent short preview sessions rather than full-game testing.

Monster Hunter Wilds: portable hunts and two performance settings

Monster Hunter Wilds was played in handheld mode for one hour. Its default setting capped performance at 30 frames per second, while a second hunt used an uncapped setting. The reported combat sessions ran well, with no major difference or issue noted between the two settings.

The demo included hunts against Rathian and Lagiacrus. The Switch 2 version is also reported to support local play and crossplay, giving hunters options for playing together across supported configurations.

Its planned Switch 2 release date is December 4, 2026. Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance is planned for Switch 2 in 2027.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen brings large encounters to Switch 2

The Switch 2 version of Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen is planned for October 9, 2026, with both the base game and Dark Arisen expansion content in the package.

The hands-on demo presented three encounters: a Griffin, the Fallen Dragon and an icy dragon in the snow-covered Norgan region. The session emphasized the game’s scale, atmosphere, cutscenes and combat, making this the lineup’s clearest open-world action RPG showcase.

Resident Evil 2, 3 and 4: smooth play with a softer RE4 image

The three Resident Evil remakes are planned for Nintendo Switch 2 on October 16, 2026. Hands-on sessions covered both handheld and docked play in one setting, while a separate session focused exclusively on handheld mode.

The reported sessions described all three games as running smoothly. In handheld mode, Resident Evil 4 was described as visually softer than Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3. That gives the trilogy a clear practical distinction: the reported play was smooth, but the image quality was not identical across all three games in handheld use.

Mega Man: Dual Override offers two playable heroes

Mega Man: Dual Override is planned for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027. The demo included playable sections with Mega Man and Proto Man, along with three chip choices that altered the way the action played.

Proto Man used a shorter-range attack and a shield, giving the two heroes different combat tools. The preview also found the difficulty fair during a first-time session. The game is the only title in Capcom’s six-game group planned for both Nintendo platforms.

Capcom’s planned Switch 2 release calendar

The near-term schedule starts with Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen on October 9, 2026. The three Resident Evil remakes follow on October 16, Monster Hunter Wilds is planned for December 4, and Mega Man: Dual Override is scheduled for 2027 on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
