Director Neill Blomkamp, known for District 9 and Elysium, presents his next sci-fi film, where you'll meet CHAPPiE, a robot that can think and feel. Enjoy the evolution of a robot into a man with the new CHAPPiE trailer.
A Robot That Thinks and Feels
Every child is born full of promise, and CHAPPiE is no exception: a prodigy, gifted and special. Like any child, CHAPPiE will be influenced by his environment, some good, some bad, and he will rely on his heart and soul to find his way in the world and become whoever he wants to be. But there's one thing that makes CHAPPiE different from everyone: he is a robot. The first robot with the ability to think and feel for himself. His life, his story, is about to change the way the world views robots and humans forever.
From Tetra Vaal to the Big Screen
Based on the short film Tetra Vaal, presented by Neill Blomkamp in 2004, the story takes place in a future where the police have been replaced by brutal robots. But one of these robots is kidnapped by a group of gangsters who turn him into a machine that can think and feel, named CHAPPiE. Programmed from scratch like a small child, CHAPPiE now has to learn to live if he wants to coexist in this world. Of course, there are always people who fear what they don't understand, and in this case, an extremist anti-AI group wants to eliminate poor CHAPPiE, as they consider him a threat to the future of humanity.
