Coinflash: A Platform to Invest Your Change in Cryptocurrencies
Coinflash

Specialized media keep a close eye on all the latest cryptocurrency news, whether it's good or bad. But a question many enthusiasts ask is how to start exploring this particular world easily and safely. The people at Coinflash present their users with the possibility of calculating the accumulated "change" from their spending and, with the help of the Coinbase exchange, putting it into options like Bitcoin, Ethereum and/or Litecoin.

The Current Crypto Landscape

Bitcoin just surpassed the $4,400 barrier. After what was a truly black September, the cryptocurrency needed only 15 days to recover its pace, demonstrating (for now) its immunity to irritated CEOs and interventionist governments. Ethereum remains stable at $300, Litecoin holds at $54, and Monero lost nearly ten dollars in a week. A cryptocurrency's growth doesn't guarantee a 'contagion effect', and each case requires precise study. The problem is that we're facing a game with many variables and natural volatility. That said, if someone decides to 'get their feet wet' and experiment a bit, where should they start? A very promising option is Coinflash.

Coinflash calculates all those 'leftover' cents from each purchase and instructs Coinbase to acquire their equivalent in cryptocurrencies.

How Coinflash Works

Coinflash's job is to observe the transactions on the credit and debit cards the user has configured, calculate the "change" for each operation (rounding up to the next dollar), and buy that final sum in Bitcoin, Ethereum, or Litecoin using the Coinbase exchange. The most important point to highlight is that Coinflash never manipulates available funds; it only serves as an "agent" to tell Coinbase which weekly or monthly operations to carry out, with the payment methods configured there (for example, Coinflash calculates the "change" from a credit card, while Coinbase uses another card to buy the cryptocurrencies).

Coinflash is taking its first steps as a beta.

Fees and Availability

Coinflash charges a fixed fee of one dollar per month (in Bitcoin or Ethereum, obtained from your Coinbase account) regardless of the number of purchases, to which we also need to add Coinbase's own commission. The platform is in beta, and as far as I can determine, it only works with US banks, but the international and decentralized profile of cryptocurrencies should expand Coinflash's reach very soon.
