Convert YouTube Videos into Children's Books

How to install and configure Rivet

First step

The first thing you need to do is install Rivet on your mobile device (Android and iOS). Then you'll need to log in to the platform with your Google account to move to the second screen of the interface.

Second step

The utility will ask an adult for consent for the little ones to use the tool by clicking on “I consent”.

Third step

You'll have to create a profile for the child (age, selected first language, chosen second language, etc.).

Fourth step

You'll have to determine the child's reading level (there are 8 levels). There you can see the reading speed of each level. Once the level is determined, you need to click the save button.

Fifth step

The platform will ask you for permission to record audio; you can allow or deny the request. Now you'll be able to see the tool's book database.

How to use Rivet

At the top of the interface, the child's name and reading level will be shown. Below you'll see a button with YouTube books and the listed categories (adventure, animals, fiction, history, non-fiction, science, sports, etc.). Books that support audio have a volume icon.

To improve the reading experience, you'll have arrows to navigate freely through its pages and a zoom tool to zoom in or out of the text.

In the bottom left corner, you'll find the microphone icon. When activated, you can have the environment say a selected word aloud. This option will improve the pronunciation of new words. When you finish reading, the platform will celebrate your effort with applause. Then you can rate the book to move to the final screen where you'll get your reward.
