On September 24, 2026, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recalled The Blue Cactus Company 2500 mAh Battery Packs for Reclining Chairs, model RWX-RBP02, over a fire and burn hazard. The agency says it is aware of four reports of the packs overheating, smoking or igniting, and puts the affected quantity at about 51,000.
The lithium-ion packs were designed for reclining chairs from various brands—not as general-purpose phone power banks.
How to identify the recalled battery pack
The recalled pack has a black casing, with The Blue Cactus Company branding on the front and model number RWX-RBP02 printed on the back. Its capacity is 2,500 mAh. The CPSC recall number is 26-791.
Replacement and disposal
Stop using the pack immediately and contact The Blue Cactus Company to request a replacement, the remedy listed by the CPSC.
Do not put the recalled pack or device in ordinary trash, curbside recycling or used-battery collection boxes. Before taking it anywhere, contact a local household hazardous waste center to confirm that it accepts recalled lithium-ion batteries.
Sales period and importer
The CPSC identifies Amazon.com as the online sales channel and lists sales from May 2023 through July 2026 for about $105. The agency names Go North Rocket 28 AB, of Sweden, as the importer.
