Dissection Font transforms the text itself into a puzzle, splitting each letter into pieces in a Tetris-like style. Resolving the text requires a lot of practice, or alternatively, an impeccable visual memory.
Dissection Font is the creation of Erik Demaine, Martin Demaine, Donald E. Knuth, and Yushi Uno. The typeface was presented last year during Knuth's birthday party (professor emeritus at Stanford University), and it works by representing each letter or number as a small puzzle of 6x6 internal blocks.
The user can configure a subdivision into 2, 3, or 4 pieces, increasing its complexity. Only with the 4-piece shape is it possible to maintain a uniform height in the letters, and generally, the text looks better thanks to the use of additional small blocks (the configuration does not change, and they are still interpreted as four pieces per letter in total).
There are four visual modes: letters without dissection, dissection as text, dissection as squares, and dissection as both text and squares simultaneously. The latter is the most useful because it will allow you to 'train', so to speak.
Dissection Font is an interesting form of encryption, though not perfect. The two-piece font has some errors (for example, '6' and '9' are the same), and there is no support for ñ, special symbols, or accented letters. Still, Dissection Font will help you cause more than one headache, hiding text in colored pieces.
